Man charged with having stolen handgun
Spencer Charles Hanks, 31, of White Earth has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony receiving stolen property.
According to court records, on Dec. 10, an agent with the West Central Minnesota Drug and Violent Crime Task Force obtained a search warrant for a Becker County residence. A number of people were in the home, including Hanks. In his room, officers allegedly found a small locked safe under the bed, which contained a handgun, jewelry, ammunition and a large amount of cash. The handgun had been reported as stolen.
Hanks appeared in court Dec. 12 before District Judge Gretchen Thilmony, who set bail at $300 or bond at $5,000, with conditions, or bond at $10,000 without standard conditions of release.
