Letter: Place your hand over your heart for National Anthem
I believe in respecting the National Anthem by placing your hand over your heart or saluting as the military does.
This is not the case with about 80 percent of our population (my estimate) when the flag and our National Anthem is played before football games. Just watch the crowd and observe for yourself.
At least the ball players who are kneeling are doing something to call attention to a problem in our nation.
I recall one time when our National Anthem was being played and President Donald Trump was standing on the portico in front of the White House, he had to be nudged by his wife to remember to place his hand over his heart, which he did.
(Now let the rest of us remember).—Carol Strache, Frazee
