BOYS GOLF: Pirates nip Lakers in Bemidji

Section 8AA continues to get more intriguing in boys golf with threats to the Lakers’ hold on the title. Fergus Falls lost to DL by one stroke at the Detroit Country Club and Crookston took DL down at the site of the section championship in Bemidji Monday winning by seven strokes.

Ben Trostad shot a 77 to place fourth to lead the Pirates to a team score of 318. DL shot 325 without a golfer breaking 80. Ben Unruh led the team with an 80, Wyatt Blomseth and Ryan Paskey shot matching scores of 81. Collin Ginnaty shot 83. Riley Johnson (87) and Logan Burhans (91) also competed for the Lakers.

East Grand Forks placed third scoring 331 behind medalist Nate Deziel’s 73.
