The girls golf season has been nothing but victories for Detroit Lakes and four consecutive medalist honors for senior Maddie Herzog after another win at the Park Rapids Invite held at Headwaters Golf Club Monday, May 7.

The Lakers put all four scoring golfers in the top 10.

Herzog (36-37) won by two strokes over teammate Shelby Busker (37-38) with a 73 to Busker’s 75.

Anna Cihak (39-43) placed eighth with an 82. McKenna Mallow (41-45) shot 86 to finish in 10th place.

DL’s total of 316 was plenty of cushion in the team standings as the Lakers defeated Bemidji (344) by 28 strokes. Perham placed third with a 356 led by Kolbey Bormann’s fifth place score of 80. Crookston’s Ally Tiedemann, last year’s co-section champion with Herzog also shot 80 to lead the Pirates to a fourth place finish (384) in a field of 14 teams.

Emily Larson (52-52 104) and McKenna Burhans (52-56 108) also competed for Detroit Lakes.
